I wear many hats, some times too many at once. I am a PhD candidate; a program director of a federally funded program that assists first-generation, low-income, and other underrepresented college students in obtaining their educational goals; maintain my freelancing pro-bono work in academic development; and volunteer with Life Bloom Services International and previously volunteered with the Rosamond Gifford Zoo.
I force myself to make time for a social life, which includes hiking; time with my friends, who I often consider to be my family; some consumption of Fables, Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and other graphic novels/comics; and attending to the political issues, including those issues that shouldn’t be political, but have been politicized (e.g. education, equality, and the environment).
This blog is a collection of my thoughts on many things in various forms – photography, non-fiction writing, poetry – and on any topic that strikes my fancy. I enjoy traveling, so a lot of posts are often around that theme or based on travel I’ve taken.
Thank you for visiting!
